Abstract : A membrane-based template synthesis method was used to preparenanostructured Li-ion battery electrodes and nanogoldlporous aluminum oxidecomposite membranes. Membrane-based template synthesis is a generalmethod for the preparation of nanomaterials which entails deposition of thematerial of interest, or a suitable precursor, within the nanometer-diameter poresin a porous template membrane. This method allows for control of nanoparticlesize and shape and is compatible with many methods of synthesis for bulkmaterials.
