Abstract
:
Modeling and simulation have been conducted for a nickel-hydrogen cell. Twoimportant mechanisms of a nickel-hydrogen cell: self-discharge process and nickel phasereactions were investigated. Model predictions were analyzed and compared toexperimental data. It is shown that the self-discharge process of a nickel-hydrogen cellcould be satisfactorily predicted by considering two major self-discharge paths: hydrogenoxidation on the nickel eIectrode, and oxygen evolution on the nickel electrode and thenreduction on the platinum electrode.
