Abstract : The application of fiiLzy logic to aircraft motion control is studied in this dissenation.The self-tuning &zty techniques are developed by changing input scaling factors to obtaina robust fizzy controller over a wide range of operating conditions and nonlinearities for anonlinear aircraft model. It is demonstrated that the properly adjusted input scaling factorscan meet the required performance and robustness in a f h z y controller. For a simpledemonstration of the easy design and control capability of a firzzy controller, aproportional-derivative (PD) fuzzy control system is compared to the conventionalcontroller for a simple dynamical system.
