Abstract	:	Power systems are subjected to major disturbances such as: faults, loss oracquisition of generation, or large blocks of loads. After a disturbance, if the powersystem can not reach a steady state operating condition, it is considered unstable. Thepurpose of a transient stability detection algorithm or device is to detect transient stabilityswings, and classify them as being stable or unstable.
