Abstract	:	This thesis reports an investigation of nickel aluminate spinel which could findapplication as a reforming cataiyst in internal reforming fuel cells. The incentive to thiswork is the discovery of the behavior of nickel aluminate spinel (NiA1204) underreducing conditions. It was found that under reducing conditions, NiA1204 was partiallyreduced to form monodispersed metallic Ni as nanoparticles. Ni is a well-known catalystfor the steam reforming reaction of C& and the electrochemical oxidation reaction of H2at an SOFC anode.
