Abstract	:	To date, there exists no accepted microscopic theory to explain the nature of super-conductivity in the high temperature superconductors. The motivation For this workis to extend the experimental understanding of the high temperature superconduc-tors by performing temperature dependent measurements of the magnetic penetrationdepth for carrier doped sampIes.We present measurements of the superconducting penetration depth X(T) as afunction of carrier doping for pure and Ni doped YB~&U&-~ (YBCO).These studies provide experimental evidence regarding the nature of the super-conducting gap and the cornpet ing pseudogap in high temperature superconductors.....-....,....-...,..tested for theQ1 PC1 bus cardBoth these projects mere sofixare des elopment efforts tonards contributing to dlfferentaspects of Roboucs and lZ1echatronics projects m the Controls and Roboucs Group..
