Abstract	:	Water mines buried in sand or suspended in water on beaches are acommon hazard in many parts of the world. The most common mines to befound in water are composed of metals and explosives. A sea mine detectiontechnique is proposed, based on variations in the magnitude of the electric fieiddue to differences in the electrical properties of the mine and the environment inwhich it is located. The water and sand mixtures presented are illuminated by apyramidal horn antenna at 2.4GHz fed by an S-band standard waveguide.
