Abstract	:	There are several systems of qunli ty assurance requirements governing qualityassurdnce (4.4) at current nuclear operations of the U. S. Department oC Energy (DOE).The two systems most required for conformances by DOE Contractors are the Federallaw 10 C.F.R. 5 830 Pan 130 (now 830.122) and DOE Orders 414.1 and 5700.6C, eachcontaining ten common Q A criteria. Commercial American rnanufilcturing and nuclearpower industries have operated under the more stringent requirements of the AmericanSociety of Mechanical Engineers' NQA- i (nuclear quality) and the InternationalOrganization for Standardization's IS0 900 1 quality systems concurrent1 y. These otherQ A systems, with eighteen and twenty criteria respectively. contain more explicit words.In this thesis, the criteria of these QA systems will be reviewed. and the comparisons andcontrasts will be expounded between the criteria of these QA systems.
