Abstract	:	The purpose of this thesis is to attempt to answer the question of whether amachine can be programmed to leam and develop its own morality. Human moralityis discussed as a model for artificial morality. A model based on the concepts ofArtificial Life and Evolutionary Computation is developed. In this model, aprogramming simulation is performed where individuals move around on a grid,interacting with other individuals according to their ethical makeup, energy level, andmating drive. The goal of the simulation was to determine if morality could emergebased on local interactions of individuals living in an environment.
