Abstract : An important characteristic of a hot-wire elearontplosive initiator (EEI) is theall-fire current, or the minimum amplitude of electrical aurent required to cause theinitiator to finction reliably. Since typical stnss-to-failure metbods are not eftkctive intesting these devices due to their one-shot nature, this study presents a method forestimating the direct-current pulse amplitude required to ensure 0.999 reliability of EEIfving at the 95 confidence level by using a simplified variant of the BrucetonSensitivity testing model.
