Abstract	:	Six-Sigma process improvement methodology was developed in the early1980's to improve the financial results of business processes. The methodologyhas been expanded to include transactional activlies and design activities. Themain focus of the Six-Sigma process improvement is to identify and reducevariation in processes.Initial studies indicated that in one manufacturing plant the total electricalenergy use remained somewhat constant regardless of the amount of productproduced.
