Abstract	:	With unique pr as superposition and entanglement, quantumcomputation offers tremendous improvements in all aspects of present-day infomationprocessing, ranging kom search algorithms and cryptography schemes, to errorcorrection methods. Because these quanfum systems can all be realized experimentally, itis no longer sufficient to define a supercomputer solely in terms of classical components.A quantassical solution is proposed, which will exploit the best of both classical andquantum components. Using optics and cavity-QED, quantum cryptography and quantumerror comection is successfully implemented into the quantassical solution, replacingobsolete classical components.
