Abstract : In this work. a robust tactical missile autopilot for roll stabilization and lateralacceleration tracking is designed via sliding mode control. A nonlinear uncertain model ofthe missile's dynamics is used. Roll stabilization is achieved using a multiple time scalesliding mode controller, resulting in decoupled pitch and yaw motion. Lateral accelerationtracking is achieved using two methods. The first method utilizes a multiple time scalesliding mode controller when the internal dynamics of the missile are stable.
