Abstract	:	The intent of this project was to develop a hi-tech microcontroller-based alarm clockwith a wide range of capabilities. The included features were the cornrnonly availableones and rarely found ones. There were multiple alarms with several functions, aprogrammable sleep timer, a snooze button, a convenience outlet, an external devicecontroller, and a soothing sound generator for the sleep timer. A decision was made toinclude both Light Emitting Diode (LED) and Liquid Crystal Display (LCD) indicatorsfor higher visibility and backup battery operation.
