Abstract	:	This thesis focuses on two issues, (1)providing an efficient Wireless AsynchronousTransfer Mode architecture, and (')providing a scheme for efficient radio resource utiliza-tion for a multicast service. A new Wireless Asynchronous Transfer Mode architecture isproposed that overcomes limitations posed by the previous architectures. This architectureuses Genenl Packet Radio Service as the underlying radio access network. No modifica-tions are required to the Asynchronous Transfer Mode protocol. The other issue that isfocused on is efficient utilization of radio resources in a multicasting environment.
