Abstract	:	This thesis describes the design and implementation of a cornpiler for an on-mlventio~i;d. non-blocking multithreaded architecture called the Scheduled Dataflow.-\r(*llitiw u r ~ (SDF). To evaluate this architecture. a compiler is needed that can gen-st~\-v~.al (.tl;dlrrlges t o a curnpiler as described in this thesis. The thesis addresses issuesrthtrd tu nlult ir llreaded code generation.Tlw wt~lpiler uses IF2 code produced by the optimizing SISAL compiler (OSC) asinput anti gcrlerates SDF code. The front end of the compiler that reads the IF2 codeis tmrrowed from parts of the OSC. Threads are generated from the IF? graph usingdependence sets algorithm. Memory accesses are seperated from other instructionsamong all threads. Code is generated for each thread that consists of three sections[.itlle(l tht' preload. execute and poststore.
