Abstract	:	An exact closed-form analysis of a circular loop antenna can be very mathematicallycomplex. In the past, many simplifying assumptions have been made about the currentdistribution on the loop in order to simplify the analysis. These assumptions either significantlydepart from reality. or are only valid within limited frequency ranges. Analyses of the loopusing a few of these assumptions are presented in this thesis. The actual current distributions ona loop are then numerically computed using the Numerical Electromagnetic Code (NEC). whichdetermines the loop currents by solving the electric field integral equation (EFIE) using themethod of moments.
