Abstract	:	The goal of image compression is to represent an image with as few bits as possiblewhile still maintaining an adequate fidelitg for a particular application.This thesis investigates the efFectiveness of using a hybrid of traditional residual vectorquantization and lattice vector quantization to achieve this end.The performance of different lattices for a low rate, high dimensiod application isinvestigated.
