Abstract	:	A novel approach is presented for computer-aided detection of lung nodules in chestX-nys. The detection of lung nodules is difficult due to various reasons such as smallstructure, low contrast in the image and subjective decision criteria used by the radiologist. AComputer-Aided Diagnostic scheme that dr~ws the attention of the radiologist towards thelocation of suspected nodules enables early detection of lung cancer. This detection is criticalbecause it facilitates timely treatment before the cancer metastasizes.
