Abstract	:	Single crystals of CszZ& Rb@CL, RhCoCL, Cs&C14 and RbCoBrJ weregrown by slow evaporation andor the modified Bridgman method. This last methodwas developed by our research group. These ionic crystals were grown with andwithout doping with hdn2'. The compounds thus grown were studied by X-raydiffraction (XRD) and electron spin resonance (ESR). They were found to have Pmcnsymmetry similar to that of P-K2S04. In addition it was found that these crystals gothrough an incommensurate phase transition preceded by a Jahn-Teller effect typetransition usually responsibie for the coupling between electronic and vibrationalenergy levels. The effect of the concentration of dopant was also studied. Resultsshow that as the concentration of the dopant increases the transition temperature alsoincreases.
