Abstract	:	Real-time operating systems, RTOSs, have traditionally centered aroundoptimizing and simplifying multitasking operations in large embedded systems andpersonal computers. This has created an ever-faster trend in object-orientedprogramming enabling the proliferation of task management and error managementstructures. Unfortunately, there has not been a similar growth in the application of RTOSin small to medium size embedded systems.The objective of this thesis is to partially fill this gap through the verification of aRTOS for a small embedded system. Various aspects of the RTOS were verified with theaim of developing a multitasking and conflict free platform for a self-contained datarecorder. Results from the application of this methodology show that the multitaskingfeature of RTOS provides an object-oriented environment for applications.
