Abstract	:	Several high-performance comrnunicat ion layers such as BDM. GbI, and FMhave been implemented over the high-speed Myrinet network. Their designand interface are generally inadequate for both applications to specify QoSrequirements, and for the system to perform QoS-sensitive protocol processing andresource management. The primary contribution of this thesis is the design andimplementation of BDM-RT, the first known hard real-time Myrinet messaginglayer.
