Abstract : Traditional OFDM implementations use conventional Fourier filters for data modula-tion. via the IFFT operation. Much research suggests wavelet based OFDM providesperformance gains. due to superior spectral containment properties of wavelet filters.\\'hen compared in simulation, neither system was found fundamentally better thanthe other. Rather than focus on filter bank design, joint detection strategies pro-vide a relatively simpIe method for improving system performance. The conventionalmatched filter used in OFDM systems, is only optimal when the channel introduces nocarrier distoration. iIre propose an optimal detector, which maximizes the probabil-ity of making correct decisions, and a suboptimal method which decorrelates carriersbased on knowledge of the channel.
