Abstract : The Objective of this study is to demonstrate the feasibility of predicting productioncharacteristics in a Devonian Shale reservoir. This paper discusses the use of amultidimensional, equation of state compositional simulator to develop a prototypicalanisotropic shale reservoir. The production data from a group of single well simulationsis used to train an Artificial Neural Network to generate production indicators for a welllocation based on geopositional parameters. This study was conducted to ascertain if anArtificial Neural Network could be adapted to the random uncertainty in naturallyfractured shale reservoirs and whether this approach could further the understanding ofthis unconventional source for natural gas.....-...,..tested for theQ1 PC1 bus cardBoth these projects mere sofixare des elopment efforts tonards contributing to dlfferentaspects of Roboucs and lZ1echatronics projects m the Controls and Roboucs Group..
