Abstract : Processors for mobile handsets in 3G cellular systems require: high speed, flexibil-ity and low power dissipation. While computationally efficient, ASIC processors areoften not flexible enough to support necessary variations of implemented algorithms.On the other hand, programmable DSP processors are not optimized for a specificapplication and often they are not able to achieve high performance with low powerdissipation.As a solution we exploit programmable architectures with possibility for cus-tomization - Application Specific Instruction set Processors (ASIPs). Channel equal-ization based on iterative Conjugate Gradient and Least Mean Square algorithmsand several algorithmic modifications are implemented in MIMO context on thesame ASIPs based on Transport Triggered....-...,..tested for theQ1 PC1 bus cardBoth these projects mere sofixare des elopment efforts tonards contributing to dlfferentaspects of Roboucs and lZ1echatronics projects m the Controls and Roboucs Group..
