Abstract	:	This thesis is related to the design of the level one endcap muon trigger system forthe Compact Muon Solenoid (CMS) experiment at the Large Hadron Collider (LHC).This system is designed to use muon measurements to help reduce a computationallyoverwhelming 40 MHz signal of collision data (- 40TByteslsec) to a manageable33kHz (- 33GByteslsec) [I].
