Abstract	:	For me, writing an acknowledgement is very much like writing ب‍Thank-Youپnotes, birthday and anniversary cards, and keeping up with my family and friends. It issomething that I should do, but donبt, as I never know what to say, for fear of saying thewrong thing or somehow forgetting something or someone important. But Iبll give it mybest shot!The most important person in my life is my lovely wife, Kara. Not only has shestood beside me since I began this madness of pursuing a PhD, she herself has enteredgraduate school at New Mexico State University, in pursuit of a Masters in Geography.Over the years, I have watched how her tolerance of my late nights at the office hasbecome recognition of the struggle that a graduate education can become.
