Abstract	:	Many applications for wireless radio networks require that some or all radios inthe network rely on batteries as energy sources. In many cases, battery replacementis infeasible, expensive, or impossible. Communication protocols for such networksshould be designed to preserve limited energy supplies. Because the choice of a routeto a traffic sink influences how often radios must transmit and receive, poor routeselection can quickly deplete the batteries of certain nodes.
