Abstract	:	In the field of multi-agent systems, much of the research makes the assumption ofcooperative agents, whose behavior can be specified by the designer of the system.However, there are many settings in which this assumption is simply not valid. Theinternet in particular has served as a primary source of examples of such settings,since it connects users and agents who are pursuing their own interests and goals.A canonical example (discussed in [Nisan and Ronen, 20011)) comes from routing.Imagine that we wish to send a large file from a source to a destination using the mostefficient path.
