Abstract : This dissertation addresses a time-domain simulation method for use in high-speed circuitsimulation. Efficient and very fast simulation is a requirement for today's high-density, high-speed circuit designs. Recently, a time-domain formulation, latency insertion method (LIM), wasproposed that leads to the generation of update algorithms for the simulation of networks. Thealgorithms exhibit linear computational complexity and are scalable. Because of the time domainnature of the formulations, they can be extended to handle nonlinearities.The basic goal of this dissertation is to extend the speed, accuracy, and application range ofthe LIM method. First, the formulation of the LIM method for the case of linear networks ispresented by deriving the update algorithms.
