Abstract : This dissertation researches the task and path management of an autonomousvehicle with Ackerman-type steering. The task management problem was approached as a path training operationin which a human operator drives the desired path through an environment. Atraining trajectory is converted into a series of path segments that are driveable bythe autonomous vehicle by first fitting a general path to the dataset. Next, transitionsegments are added to the general path to match the vehicle velocity and steeringangle rate limit. The path management problem has been approached by fist deriving a kine-..tested for theQ1 PC1 bus cardBoth these projects mere sofixare des elopment efforts tonards contributing to dlfferentaspects of Roboucs and lZ1echatronics projects m the Controls and Roboucs Group..
