Abstract	:	Taking my cue from the knowledge base and practices comprising appropriatetechnology development, and building on politics of expertise scholarship, thisdissertation develops the concept of appropriate expertise: the combination of social andtechnical competences required to address marginalization through technologicalinterventions.
