Abstract	:	Siberia is a vast and remote territory that houses one of the Earth's largestpools of terrestrial carbon. Also, Siberia is located in a region that is predicted toexperience temperature increases from climate change of up to 40 above the globalmean. Under these predicted changes, fire is expected to increase. However, it isdimcult to quantify change in Siberian fire regimes because accurate baseline data arenot available.The overall goals of this investigation are to elucidate fire regimes, to devise amethod to remotely monitor fire regimes, and to quantify current and potentialemissions from fire.
