Abstract	:	It is common for field models of tight gas reservoirs to include several wells withhydraulic fractures. These hydraulic fractures can be very long, extending for more thana thousand feet. A hydraulic fracture width is usually no more than about 0.02 ft. Thecombination of the above factors leads to the conclusion that there is a need to modelhydraulic fractures in coarse grid blocks for these field models since it may beimpractical to simulate these models using fine grids.In this dissertation, a method was developed to simulate a reservoir model with a.tested for theQ1 PC1 bus cardBoth these projects mere sofixare des elopment efforts tonards contributing to dlfferentaspects of Roboucs and lZ1echatronics projects m the Controls and Roboucs Group..
