Abstract : The spread of invasive species and climate change are among the most seriousglobal environmental threats. Much of the research has been in predicting the spread andsuccess of invasive species, with little data evaluating the effects of climate change onthese invasive species. The primary goal of this dissertation was to link inter-annualclimate change and biological invasions at a landscape scale using novel remote sensingtechniques applied to the San Francisco BayISacramento- San Joaquin Delta Estuary. Ievaluated the use of hyperspectral imagery for detecting invasive aquatic species in theSacramento- San Joaquin Delta using 3 m HyMap hyperspectral imagery.
