Abstract : Cotton growth is indeterminant thus requiring termination at optimal maturity.Chemical harvest-aids are used to terminate cotton growth and prepare it for harvest,and are selected based upon cotton maturity, environmental conditions, and harvestcapacity. Cotton maturity can vary spatially due to environmental and cultural factors;thus site-specific applications of harvest-aids may increase efficacy while reducingcosts. In order to utilize site-specific technology to apply harvest-aids, the spatialvariability of cotton maturity must be known. Research was conducted to evaluatespectral reflectance data for determining cotton maturity.
