Abstract
:
With recent progress of nanotechnology for spin-electronic devices, a rich potential fornanomagnets has been attracted considerable attention. Some fundamental issues, however, are stillopen to question. This study throws a new light on the issues by using the techniques: preparationtechniques for uniform nanomagnets and techniques for estimation of equilibrium states.The results show that conventional models for classical phenomena of individual nanomagnetsshould be renewed in some respects [I]. In addition, it is shown that existence of macroscopicquantum phenomena is doubtful in the Kelvin regime, even if magnetization of the individualnanomagnet is considerably small [2]. On the other hand, we can find that assembled nanomagnetsshow cooperative phenomena: spin glasslike order in randomly assembled nanomagnets [3,4] andsome phase transitions in dipolar-coupled nanomagnets with sufficient mobility [5].
