Abstract : Multiple-input-multiple-output (MIMO) wireless systems have demonstrated high ca-pacity gains over single antenna systems in multipath environments. In contrast to mostwireless communication techniques, MIMO systems thrive in rich multipath environmentsand are able to exploit the structure of the channel matrix to enable parallel data trans-mission. In order to predict MIMO system performance, channel models are needed thatcapture the effects of the multipath channel, antenna array configuration, etc. This the-sis discusses site-specific ray-tracing methods to predict capacity for realistic narrowband.
