Abstract	:	Our perception of and relationship with our natural environment is shapedby the dominant cultural perspectives held toward the environment. Thiscomparative study is based on the assumption that there is a marked differencebetween these cultural perspectives in lndia and the United States, and becausejournalists caw cultural notions to the newsroom. these differences are likely tosurface in media coverage of environmental issues. Considering environmentalactivism opposing large hydroelectric projects as one example of environmentalnews, this study examines the emergence of cultural differences in the printmedia in lndia and the United States.
