Abstract	:	Rhetoricians of science are constantly confronted with certain recurringquestions about their field: To what extent and in what ways is there a rhetoricalcomponent to scientific knowledge? Can particdar scientific fields be identified withcharacteristic lines of argument and patterns of persuasion? Are there specific kindsof proofs that are persuasive for certain scientific communities?
