Abstract	:	This thesis compares the IEEE 802.11e Medium Access Control protocol, which is anemerging standard for wireless local area networks providing Quality of Service and anewer and more efficient Multi-User Polling protocol (MUP) for enhancing MACperformance for delay sensitive real time traffic. Such a scheme if found to have betterperformance can be employed in next generation 802.11 enabled cell phones with VoIPover WLAN capability..
