Abstract	:	Among various diversity techniques to combat fading in wireless channels, spa-tial diversity through MIMO coding scheme is an eض‍ective way to increase linkcapacity and system reliability without sacriطcing bandwidth eciency. Recently,cooperative diversity has been introduced as an ecient alternative to improve sys-tem performance without the requirement of additional antennas. However, mostof existing works on MIMO and cooperative communications are based on an as-sumption that the destination has perfect knowledge of channel state informationof all transmission links and hence introduces high complexity to the receiver.To overcome such problems, this thesis proposes diض‍erential modulation schemesfor space-time coded MIMO and cooperative communications. By exploiting spa-tial/cooperative diversity without the requirement of channel state information,.
