Abstract : Modem hard disk media design requires thin ب‌پ‍ilm longitudinal media as thin aspossible in order to achieve a short transition length. To avoid transition noise, the Coalloy grains need to be effectively decoupled- Moreover, since the volume of eachrecording bit becomes smaller at higher recording density, to obtain sufficient signal tonoise ratio (SNR), the grain size has to be smaller. As a result, modem high-densitylongitudinal recording requires a thin media with small grains and isolated grainstructures. However, if this technological approach is continued to increase the recordingdensity, eventually the stored information will become thermally unstable. This is the so-called superparamagnetic.
