Abstract : The ionosphere is a dynamic system characterized with disturbances depending on thegeomagnetic field topography, neutral thermospheric winds, and solar activity. These dis-turbances, such as Equatorial Plasma Bubbles (EPB), can cause scintillations in satellitecommunication and navigation signals. Far ultraviolet (FUV) radiation resulting from therecombination of oxygen ions and electrons in the ionosphere is used as a diagnostic toinvestigate the plasma distribution, and therefore investigate the evolution and develop-ment of EPBs. The optically thin 135.6 nm wavelength airglow, one product of oxygenion recombination, is measured by a photometer within the plane of the spacecraft's orbitcontinuously by way of an external.
