Abstract	:	Several computer vision techniques like image registration, pattern recognitionand feature extraction demand either precise matching of a template to an image orperfect alignment of two images. To accomplish these tasks, appropriate similaritymeasure is chosen depending on the type of requirement.The cross correlation (CC), Gradient correlation and the mutual information (MI)are the most commonly used similarity measures for image registration.
