Abstract	:	The phased array offers an attractive alternative for directing narrow-beamradiation compared to that of a mechanically controlled gimbal antenna. Advancements inmonolithic microelectronic devices have produced reliable low-cost microwave circuitsthat can be used in multi-element array applications. Tapered slotline antennas offer anappealing array element solution.
