Abstract : Biological research and medicine increasingly depend on interrogating bindinginteractions among small segments of DNA, RNA, protein, and bio-specific smallmolecules. Microarray technology, which senses the affinity for target molecules insolution for a multiplicity of capturing agents fixed to a surface, has been used inbiological research for gene expression profiling and in medicine for molecularbiomarker detection. Label-free affinity sensing is preferable as it avoids fluorescentlabeling of the target.
