Abstract	:	JPEG2000 is a wavelet transform based image compression and coding standard. It providessuperior rate-distortion performance when compared to the previous JPEG standard. In additionJPEG2000 provides four dimensions of scalabilityت‍distortion, resolution, spatial, and color. Thesesuperior features make JPEG2000 ideal for use in power and bandwidth limited mobile applicationslike urban search and rescue.
