Abstract
:
Many new and innovative methods for propulsion have been explored in recentyears. Some of the methods harness the resulting force between two current systems.Winglee [6] performed a research project that investigated nini-magnetospheric plasmapropulsion. His research concluded that a spacecraft traveling out of the solar systemcould achieve speeds of 50 to 80 km s-' , while experiencing a lNewton force resultingfrom solar wind. This method was investigated by simulating the coupling of solar windwith a mini-magnetosphere. The mini-magnetosphere used in his research was generatedby the injection of plasma into a magnetic field created by onboard solenoid coils [6]..
