Abstract : Thin films of bismuth vanadate (BiV04) were grown on glass, silicon and platinizedsilicon substrates by the pulse laser deposition (PLD) method. The deposition wascarried out in the vacuum at room temperature with pulse energy between 56-100 mJfocused on a 10 mm by 1 mm square spot. The as-grown films were amorphous, andbecame crystalline with monoclinic structure after annealing in air at 300پ‍-C - 400پ‍-C foran hour. The films are smooth and uniform for optical measurement. This is the firstattempt for the growth of bismuth vanadate films by the PLD method. The open.
